My Life Lately.

Hello there,
It's been a while right?
I have been super busy recently which has resulted me in having zero time to blog.
Blogging is something I have always had an interest in so I created my little blog so I had a space I could discuss and share the things I love. However, sometimes life gets really busy and the things I like to do in my spare time kinda have to take a back seat until things get back on track.
But now I am back and I am excited to start blogging again!
So for my first post I thought I would just have a little chit chat on what I have been up to and why it's been a little difficult recently.
I don't think I have mentioned this before but I am studying at university for a degree in Nursing. Now I know that nursing and make-up are two totally different careers but I have a passion for both so I decided when I finished school to start studying towards becoming a nurse and trained to be a makeup artist in my spare time.
Studying and working is difficult and finding the balance is key to basically not losing your mind! I remember in my first year of uni thinking I couldn't do it and I was adamant I was going to have to quit! I am so glad I didn't.
I am coming up to finishing my final year in September and I am so excited to qualify. I have worked really hard in these past three years and although its been stressful and testing this last year, and I may have shed a tear (maybe a few), I am really proud of myself for sticking to it.
So yeah, basically this last year has been tough, but my qualification is almost in reaching distance, and I can't wait to wear my cap and gown!
Anyway, enough of me babbling on! I have decided now is the right time to get back to doing what I love doing so here I am :)
I am eager to start posting more blog posts on makeup looks as I love experimenting with makeup looks. I am also going to start posting more lifestyle posts too to spice things up a bit!
Speak again soon

Festive Makeup | Sparkle

Hi Lovelies,
Today I thought I would share with you a makeup look which is perfect for the festive season. It has sparkle and luscious lashes! What's not to love?
Below is a list of all the products I used to achieve this look :)

Eyes- I first applied Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion to the lids to ensure my shadow stays put for the evening, I then applied Barry M's Super Soft Eye Crayon in No2 all over the lid and blended out with a Mac 217, I then applied MAC's shadow in Texture in the crease to ensure a seamless blend, I dabbed Urban Decay's Half Baked on the lid with a flat brush and Virgin to the inner corners to add some sparkle and to finish, I used Rimmel's Gel Liner to add some definition and finally lined my waterline with Rimmel Eye Liner in nude to open up my eyes.

Brows and Lashes- L'oreal Brow Artist 03, Tanya Burr's Individual Lashes, L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara.

Face- Foundation: Mac studio fix fluid blended with fingers, Concealor: Mac Prep and Prime in Light Boost, Powder: Mac studio fix powder, Contour: The Body Shop Bronzing Powder No 3, Blush: Revlon No 020 Tawny Peach, Highlight: The Body Shop Radiance Pearls

Lips- Revlon Chubby Stick (colour has rubbed off), L'oreal Color Riche Julianne's Nude, Clarins Lip perfector No 2

What's your go to look this party season?

My Christmas Wish-list...

Hello Lovelies,
I can't believe it is nearly December! Is it me or has this year just flown by? I love this time of year and as Christmas is fast approaching, I have started browsing the net at all the luscious gifts! Today, I thought I would share with you my Christmas Wish-list :)

1. Ted Baker small patent crystal purse £79  Ted baker is one of my favourite shops, and at Christmas they never disappoint. I love everything about this brand, especially their accessories. Every time I go in store I am always drawn towards their purses and leave the shop lusting for one. This black patent purse especially caught my eye. I love the simplicity of this purse and you can never go wrong with the colour black! Although I do think that the price is a bit steep, personally I think it's totally worth the plunge as I can see it lasting a long time!

2. Topshop leather buckled ankle boots £80  I have longed for these Topshop boots since they came out in store and would be one happy girl if I received a pair from santa. These boots are perfect for everyday as the heel isn't too high and I think they just add the final touches to an outfit. The gold detailing is on point, adding a bit of glam without looking too much and the leather is stunning quality.

3. Next penguin pyjamas set £16  Can we all just take a second to appreciate how adorable these are. I absolutely love penguins and could live in pyjamas all day so the two put together are perfect in my eyes. The pyjamas are a t-shirt and pants set and the pants even have tiny penguins on! So cute. Having previously received Next pyjamas as a gift I can say the quality is beautiful and they are super comfy!

4. Cloud Nine Original Iron £129.95  I have always been a GHD girl but as my brother is a hairdresser he recently introduced me to the Cloud Nine brand. My hair is naturally curly so a good pair of straighteners is key to tame my frizziness down. When Simon used these on my hair I couldn't believe the difference to my GHD's. My hair was so soft and straight and tamed my curly locks all day!

5. Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita palette £38  After reading so many good reviews of the Charlotte Tilbury products I am eager to try her makeup range. Theres so many products I want to try but The Dolce Vita palette stands out to me as I tend to use bronze colours in my day to day makeup routine and the colours are just beautiful. I do think that it is slightly expensive but I can see the quality being amazing so I think it's totally worth it.

6. Next Vanilla Cupcake Set £10 (In Store)  Unfortunately I can't find this online but I have seen this set in a few Next stores so I hope it's still available. I think this cupcake set is so cool and being a baking lover, I would love this! The set includes super cute cupcake cases, a whisk and spatula, cupcake vanilla mix and sprinkles! Everything you need to make a perfect batch of yumminess.

What's in your Christmas Wish-list?

The Review | The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Hey Lovelies,
So I haven't blogged for a while which I am disappointed in, but my life has been a little hectic lately resulting in me taking time out from my hobby. However, I am back now and it's time for another review!
So lets talk skincare...

As you can see from the title, I am going to share my thoughts on The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter £12.00I was watching Velvetgh0st on Youtube and she said that she used this product in her skincare routine and loves it, so I had to try it!

Previously I used Clinique Take The Day Off Balm to remove my makeup and although I really like the product, I thought I would give this one a try after reading many positive reviews! (And it's a lot cheaper than the Clinique too!)

I use this as part of my evening skincare routine to remove my makeup. I massage a small amount into my face and it becomes an oil like consistency and melts away all my makeup, even waterproof mascara! I wipe away the remaining residue with the Body Shop Muslin Cloth and my skin is left feeling clean and buttery soft. The cleanser is very soothing and gentle on my sensitive skin and simply feels luxurious.

I don't have anything bad to say about this product, although I do wish it came in a bigger size. I love the packaging and the fresh scent. It basically does what it says on the tin and more! I would recommend this to anyone —all skin types— and I will definitely be repurchasing this again!

What's your favourite cleanser?

My August Beauty Favourites...

Hi lovelies,
Well didn't August fly by?! I can't believe it's actually September already. Not that I am complaining though, I love Autumn as it means cosy jumpers, hot chocolates and not to forget, halloween!
So in this post I thought I would share with you the products I was loving last month – some are new discoveries and others old favourites.

The first product I was loving was one of my new discoveries! Last month I started noticing little bumps appearing on my face and the odd spot cropping up so I was in need of a new facial scrub. I decided to make a little trip to The Body Shop as the products I have previously tried have all been really good. The shop assistant recommended The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub-£6.50 to me and boy am I glad she did! This product is amazing! I noticed results straight away – my skin felt instantly smoother, looked healthier and the blemishes began to fade. It has a strong scent to it, however, this is not an issue for me as I love the smell. I use the scrub every other night after cleansing and it doesn't dry my skin out one bit! I would recommend this product to anyone.

My second discovery last month was the MAC Strobe Cream-£24.50. Once again I purchased this after it was recommended to me and have used it everyday since. So what is it? Well it's a miracle in a bottle to me! It's a moisturiser loaded with vitamins and green tea which combats tired and dull skin. I use the product before applying my foundation focusing more in the centre of my face. It gives a lovely glow to your skin and keeps your face feeling hydrated and moisturised without looking oily. A little really does go a long way with this and if you like, you can apply more in the evening to achieve a more intense highlight. An absolute must have in your makeup bag!

The next few products are some old favourites which have reappeared into my daily routine. The first being another MAC product (I told you i'm a MAC gal!). The MAC Creme Cup Lipstick-£15.50 is described as a light blue pink colour and has their cremesheen finish. It's a great everyday lipstick to add a bit of colour to your lips without being too much. I'd describe it as a your lips, but better colour.  I love teaming this lipstick with a smokey eye at weekends for a more dramatic look!

My next fave is the No7 Blusher Brush-£11.50. This little gem is perfect for everything! I use this brush to contour, highlight and apply blusher. As the brush is slightly tapered, it allows you to get into the hollows of your cheeks – shaping your face "effortlessly". The bristles are really soft and apply product evenly to my face. Being a synthetic brush, it makes it easy to clean and I find it doesn't shed either. I think this brush will be staying with me for a long time!

Last but by certainly no means least are the Simple Kind To Skin Facial Cleansing Wipes-£3.49 which are currently on the 3 for 2 offer in Boots! I just love these wipes and to be honest I love the brand as a whole. As previously mentioned, I have sensitive skin and I find that most facial wipes are too harsh for my skin and the wipes that aren't are quite dry. These are just perfect in my eyes. They don't irritate my skin and they hold in a lot of moisture so they don't dry up quickly. Now, we all have them nights where we feel lazy and our skincare routine just seems to much of a task – so this is when these little beauties are handy! The wipes are very gentle and take all my makeup of (even mascara) without hassle, leaving my skin feeling clean and fresh.

What beauty products were you loving last month?

My Go To Foundation...

Hi lovelies,
I always find myself searching for my "holy grail" foundation. One that offers me a medium but buildable coverage, that's not too matte and is also long-lasting. I'm usually a MAC girl at heart and their Studio Fix Fluid is always in my stash, however, recently I was finding that it just wasn't working for me.

My brother recently got married and when I was told I was in charge of the make-up duties I was extremely excited and saw it as an opportunity to try different products. We needed to find the perfect foundation for the wedding day, one with a flawless finish and that didn't flash back on photos. *Ghost face argh*

After carrying out some research on the net and listening to peoples recommendations, the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup kept cropping up so I had to try it! The foundation is described as a "worry-free, long-wearing foundation that stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity" and I totally agree with this! It stayed on my face all day at the wedding and barely needed touching up!

I've been using this foundation for a few weeks now and I can honestly say I am in love with it! As the coverage is buildable, I can achieve a lighter coverage in the week and build it up to a full coverage at weekends.

My skin type is normal to dry and a little sensitive so I don't usually like foundations with a full matte finish as I feel it can make my skin look dry and tight. This foundation is oil-free with a semi-matte finish so I was surprised I loved it so much, but it's long-lasting and not at all drying on my skin. The formula can seem a little thick at first but once you get the hang of applying it, it's not an issue. I prefer to apply the product with a foundation brush (any will do!) and then buff it into my skin with the Illamasqua Blusher Brush, its amazing for achieving that flawless finish! The product is also fragrance-free and non-acnegenic and when I realised this I loved it even more! Most fragranced foundations I have previously tried either break me out or irritate my skin due to it being sensitive. *cry*

For people who prefer the more dewy look to their skin I maybe wouldn't recommend this foundation to you due to the semi-matte finish, however, if you are looking for a long-lasting foundation with a flawless finish I would definitely go grab this one off the shelves!

So this foundation is a winner for me! I'd love to know what your go to foundations are <3

I'm Loving... Topshop

Topshop is my favourite high street store for fashion. Every time I walk through the doors I can guarantee I will be leaving with one of their white plastic bags.
As Autumn/Winter is fast approaching I thought I would look online and have a look at what they have to offer, although I know they'd never disappoint.

1. The first item of clothing is from the new range which is modelled by the gorgeous Cara Delivingne and is called the leopard print pelmet skirt. This skirt stood out for me because it's super cute and can be dressed up or dressed down. Perfect wardrobe staple! Personally I would style this skirt with a slouchy white tee some black boots and a black leather jacket. *Drool!*

2. The rust check scarf is just a beauty! I absolutely love this print and it just reminds me of Autumn time with the colours. I would style this with jeans, chelsea boots and a black oversized coat.

3. When looking for Autumn/Winter clothes the items I get most excited about are jumpers. Especially oversized, cosy ones! I've been looking at the lofty rib jumper for a couple of weeks now since seeing it in store. I love the colour of this one as it will go with absolutely anything and it can be easily styled with some black skinnies and boots or sneaks.

4. When I'm searching for boots for Autumn/Winter I always seem to find myself lusting over the same style but never seem to take the plunge and buy them, so this year I have decided to invest in some. These leather ankle boots are the perfect boot for me. They are black so they will go with everything and they have a heel so they will give me height *cheers to self*.

5. Now, who doesn't love a good pair of jeans? I know I do. However, when wearing jeans I always find myself reaching for my black skinnies so I've decided I need change. Because change is good! I saw these ripped jeans and thought I must have them! I like that they are a darker denim and I think the rips just add some edge to them, don't you think? These jeans would look amazing with some little heels and a blouse tucked in or if your opting for the casual look, a slouchy jumper and sneaks.

6. Right, can we all just take a moment to admire the beauty that is this backpack! I'm normally a tote bag kinda girl but when I laid eyes on this I was in love... and then I looked at the price *slight cry*. At £100, this tasselled backpack will unfortunately be staying on my wishlisht for a while,  but I love the tassels and the simplicity of the bag. You can't really tell on the picture above but if you click the link you can see the material clearer. It's described as a "pony effect" basically its like fur! Amazing.

7. Last but certainly not least is this beautiful lipstick in "Trigger". I think this colour is perfect for the upcoming months and the red makes me feel all christmassy! Yes I feel christmassy already. This colour can make a boring outfit pop and thats why I love it. This is the time of the year where the little black dresses begin to make an appearance and I think styled with a gorgeous red lip ... well you just can't go wrong with that! The formula of these lipsticks are amazing too, the ones I have perviously purchased have been long-lasting and very pigmented.

So there you have it , my Topshop wish list. Let me know what you are lusting over in Topshop at the moment <3
